Here we go....

By this time I suppose some of you are wondering whether Tom is excited yet.... Mostly, Tom is exhausted. I think Karen is exhausted too. But she, at least, has gone to bed.

We have a nice, early am flight to Chicago, for which we are all checked in, boarding passes in hand; a four-hour layover at fun and exciting ORD; then the long jump across the rest of the U. S. and over the Pacific to Hong Kong. According to the tickets, we get "lunch." Nothing of much importance regarding Ellie, or China, or the process of adoption, will arise until then, so you may have to be satisfied with descriptions of "lunch."

The picture accompanying this first blog post is from The People's Government of Nankang. They seem to be pictures of a big city, so I suspect the site is really for Nankang, Taiwan. But I wanted to limber up my slideshow-posting skills, so there we are. Practice hopefully will lead to speed. Click on the picture to view the show.

Karen, Tom, Mark & Tori,

I am so excited for your family and sad that I will not get to meet Ellie until May. Be assured that I will keep close tabs on you through this wonderful website. Thank you for sharing your experience with those of us far away.

I don't know how anyone could not be in love at first sight with that precious face.

Miss you all terribly, Janet

Hi Tom and Karen!
I just think it's really great that you have this great web page so you can share your adventures and pictures with all of us back home. I hope you get in some fun tourist time for yourselves in, but I'm sure you are anxious to get done with all the red tape and bring Ellie home to settle in with Mark and Tori, and of course, grandma and grandpa. Can't wait to meet the new little Holzwarth lady!

Hi guys
What a precious little angel. Kids are doing good here, we can't wait to meet Ellie. So far I've had two dreams about Ellie, one in Japan and one in China.
Have a safe trip back home.
Love
Yvette and David
